Reunited

If you haven't already guessed it from the title, this post is going to be about the time I got to spend with Jamie when he came home for Easter.

If you haven't already done so, check out my other blog post Distance Part 1 which is all about the time Jamie and I spent a part.

So, Distance Part 1 ended with me collecting Jamie from the airport and heading back to his house for takeaway.

Not overly exciting, I know.

But in all honesty, that was the height of our evening. All we did was eat Indian Takeaway and watch a movie.

It's been some time since Jamie went back to Denmark and I can't remember exactly what we did and when so don't expect these events to be in chronological order!

You've already heard about the Valentine's present Jamie got me, but I never told you what I got (or rather made) him. I decided that I would write him letters that he could open at certain times. For example, there is one that says "open this when we argue".. get the picture? Yes? Good.

So there was one that said "open this when you receive it" which is exactly what Jamie did. He opened it and inside was printed sheets of paper and a letter. Jamie decided to read the letter first that was informing him I was taking him to Drumbo Park Greyhound Stadium for dinner and dog racing. He was over the moon. The sheets of paper were the tickets (well I wouldn't exactly call them tickets but they had our booking reference on them).

As you have probably already guessed, Jamie and I don't take very many photos. For those who know me, this will be a big shock as I love a good Selfie and I'm usually always the one taking photos.

Although, now I think about it, on nights out etc I don't have my phone in my hand taking photos as much as I used to... Maybe I've matured and grown out of taking a billion photos a night.

Anywaaay

Jamie and I put on some nice clothes (we wanted to look good) and proceeded to wait for my friend Chantelle and her boyfriend Josh to come pick us up (double date).

We waited and we waited and we waited... to discover, they hadn't even left Islandmagee yet!

So Jamie's first reaction was "I have time for a game of Fifa"

Playing Fifa was more important
As Jamie sat playing Fifa I pondered on what I could do.. I certainly wasn't going to sit watching him play Fifa. So after I took a few selfies for SnapChat to show everyone what a loving boyfriend I have, I decided to climb into bed and play games on my phone.

I thought, "what has our relationship become?" we were sitting at opposite ends of the bedroom, not speaking to each other, just playing games.

Time went by, and before we knew it, Chantelle and Josh had arrived. We rushed downstairs, put our shoes on and out we went.

Upon arriving at Drumbo Park, we were slightly late, but it didn't matter too much as the races hadn't started yet.

We were escorted to our table which ended up being in an alright position (we were scared we were going to get a crap table). It wasn't as good as I've had before, but it could have been a lot worse.

When asked what we would like to drink Chantelle and I looked at each other... "A jug of sex on the beach for us" while Jamie ordered a pint and Josh had to stick to a coke as he was our driver for the night.

Our night consisted of cocktails, beer, food and bets.

The meal we had was beautiful. I had soup to start, some sort of chicken dish with sugar snaps, baby carrots and a portion of chips for my main and my dessert was chocolate fondant. It was delish :)

As we were at the dog races, it would have been rude not to place a few cheeky bets.. and by a few I mean I put a bet on for nearly all 12 races. Turns out I'm not as great at betting as I thought and only won back money on about 2 races (thankfully I was only placing £2 bets).Although, I've been to Drumbo a few times and always seemed to do alright.

Jamie on the other hand seemed to have it down to a T (I should have just copied his bets) and managed to win himself a couple of pound! He won something like £14 on his first race. Safe to say he was buying the drinks.

All in all (even if I did lose money) it was a fantastic night. We all had so much fun. Definitely would recommend it.. It;s something different and a guaranteed good night!

The next day was my mum's 40th birthday.. We were having a party that night in Whitehead Golf Club. All the family was invited and loads of my mum's friends, I was so excited.

The main reason for my excitement was because Jamie was finally going to get to meet my family! (He was going to have to meet my dad and step-mum Amanda at a later stage).

But the party wasn't until that evening so we had all morning and afternoon together which we decided to spend in Ballymena... Ok, I needed to go into a bank and the Ballyclare branch didn't open on saturdays so Ballymena it was.

We decided to grab lunch while in Ballymena but where? We both agreed on Spoons because Jamie likes alcohol and I love the food. Perfect

While in spoons Jamie got a pint with his meal and we BOTH ended up getting ID'd even though all I wanted was a J2O.. I was raging! But as per the food was good so couldn't complain too much!

Ok... skipping forward a bit to the evening.

Photos from Mum's birthday party!
We got ready and made our way to Whitehead. My family loved Jamie and were all buying him drinks the entire night. My Aunt Jean and Cousin Christopher were doing shots of tequila with him... My family got him drunk.

Mum seemed to enjoy the night, but paid for it the next day! It was definitely a good celebration for her 40th...err...I mean 30th...

Other than the dog racing and birthday party Jamie and I didn't do much other than hang out with each other and friends.

As I haven't got much to say about the other activities I am going to bullet point them.

  • We went to glenariff forest park in the rain.. and it ended up being closed. BUT we were absolute rebels and went in anyway. Downside..my coat leaked and I made Jamie swap with me! Upside, pretty views and pretty waterfalls.
Wearing each other's coats!
  • We went to gleno waterfall with a group of his friends.. We love waterfalls ok...
  • We went crazy golfing in Dundonald.. Safe to say I will never be doing 36 holes again as it was £20... but it was fun
  • We went to multiple pet shops to look at fish.. Everytime I tried to convince Jamie to buy us a Rabbit (or some other pet)
  • We went to a random antique shop near his granny and granda's house.. It was HUGE!!!
  • We also took many many road trips resulting in a lot of money being spent on petrol!
Actually, looking back I don't think we were very productive and we probably spent a lot of time lazing about the house together watching TV. However, I think this was the best time as we got to spend solid quality time together.. It was really nice having him home.

What wasn't so nice was the 5am start on his day of departure... We left his house at 6am and arrived at the airport at 6:20am.. I didn't want him to leave.. I struggled to let him out of the car.. I didn't want the pain of the distance to reoccur... But it wouldn't be toooo long until he was home again.

Keep posted for more blog posts coming your way soon

Later!
